What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a medical-grade facial peel that removes the outermost layers of your skin while stimulating collagen production in the deeper dermis to reveal fresher, more youthful skin. Chemical peels come in many forms and typically use some type of acid such as salicylic acid, which causes the outer layer of skin to peel away. Depending on your needs and aesthetic goals, a chemical peel may be very light or it may be stronger for a deeper peel.

A chemical peel can complement the results of other cosmetic procedures like facial fillers and RF skin tightening.

At Divine Laser & Spa, we offer a variety of medical-grade VI chemical peels and an Epionce™ peel. We can help you determine which type of chemical peel is appropriate for your skin type and aesthetic goals.

VI Peel® for Anti-Aging – $225
(series of 3 – $600; series of 5 – $925)

The VI Peel® is a painless chemical peel formulated to rejuvenate your skin and ease signs of aging like lines, uneven tone, and rough texture. The VI Peel® is one of the most effective and safest chemical peels available and it uses a combination of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Retin-A, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C.

VI Peel with Precision® For Mature Skin – $275
(series of 3 – $725; series of 5 – $1,050)

The Precision booster is used with the VI Peel® to rejuvenate aging skin. Precision uses the same synergistic ingredients as the standard VI Peel® in a higher concentration to produce more dramatic results. The VI Peel with Precision® is a good choice for softening lines, smoothing the skin, and restoring an even skin tone.

VI Peel PURIFY® for Acne – $225
(series of 3 – $600)

The VI Peel PURIFY® treatment was designed specifically for acne-prone skin to clear dead skin cells out of pores, kill the bacteria that causes acne, and sooth redness and irritation. VI Peel Purify® is a formulated booster for the VI chemical peel.

Epionce™ Sal-e Peel – $70
(series of 3 – $190)

The Epionce™ Sal-e Peel contains anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to improve skin clarity and texture, cleansing pores and leaving rejuvenated skin. Quercetin encourages collagen and elastin production, while willow bark extract and onion bulb calm and soothe the skin for a gentle, yet effective treatment.

Epionce™ Mal-e Peel – $70
(series of 3 – $190)

The Epionce™ Mal-e Peel contains potent alpha-hydroxy acid to encourage cell turnover, prompting growth of new, healthy skin cells. With a focus on delivering hydration deep into the skin and reducing problematic bacteria, the Mal-e Peel is a great choice for those who want to address hyperpigmentation, acne, and visible signs of acne.

Sal-e/Mal-e Combo Peel – $125
(series of 3 – $300)

This medical-grade combination is an enhanced peel designed to tackle common skin problems such as fine lines and wrinkles, rosacea, acne, and hyperpigmentation. As an enhanced version of the individual Sal-e and Mal-e peels, the Sal-e/Mal-e combo provides enhanced cell turnover with a focus on reducing peeling and downtime.

Lactic Peel 45% – $50
(series of 5 – $200)

Lactic acid is produced naturally by the body, which helps keep skin moisturized and prevent symptoms of dry skin. Our Lactic Peel supplements natural production to not only rehydrate the skin, but to also counteract sun damage, fill in wrinkles and fine lines, and address discoloration such as brown spots, age spots, and more. With natural moisturizing components, this peel is ideal for clients with sensitive skin or for those who want to establish a regular chemical peel routine.

Glycolic Peel 70% – $70
(series of 5 – $300)

The Glycolic Peel contains an active ingredient called alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). This naturally occurring compound addresses the outermost layer of skin, gently exfoliating dull and damaged skin cells to stimulate regrowth and increased collagen production. Our Glycolic Peel is an ideal chemical peel treatment for clients who are looking for a refreshed, rejuvenated glow.

How Is a Chemical Peel Performed?

Your chemical peel treatment will begin with a thorough cleansing of your skin to remove dirt and oils. VI Peels are applied in layers and remain on your sin for about four hours. Your appointment, however, will only take about 30 minutes. Your chemical peel specialist will give you instructions on when and how to remove the peel once you’re home.

What Is Recovery Like After a Chemical Peel?

VI Peels and the Epionce™ peel are designed to be painless with minimal side effects. After your chemical peel, it’s important to avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen. Avoid products not approved during your appointment. Don’t use makeup for the first three or four days when your skin begins to peel, although you can use a lightweight moisturizer to help mask the appearance of the light peeling. You can expect your skin to begin flaking or peeling about three days after your peel. This will continue for about three to four days to reveal brighter, more youthful skin.

How Long Will My Chemical Peel Results Last?

You can enjoy long-lasting results from your chemical peel by avoiding excess sun exposure, wearing a high-quality sunscreen, and following the proper skin care regimen. A chemical peel can be repeated up to four times per year to maintain your results.
